January 14 Starts 2019 Session

The Georgia House of Representatives’ 180 members will convene for the 2019 legislative session on Monday, January 14th at 10am. This day will consist of procedural votes to elect the House Leadership and Rules for governing of this body. The members will be officially sworn-in for their duties. At 2pm the new governor, Brian Kemp will be sworn-in for his duty as the #1 person in charge of the affairs of the state of Georgia. Many family and friends attend the swearing in on the House Chamber Floor. It is an historic moment for all members especially the newly-elected members. The same procedure will take place in the Senate with its 56 members.
